Sleep Training
About
When a new parent’s postpartum depression devolves into bizarre hallucinations, an escape from motherhood becomes necessary. Meera Rohit Kumbhani stars in this rare and brutally honest dramedy about postpartum depression and degendering parenthood.
Directors Statement
As a new parent I experienced postpartum depression that resulted in near-hallucinatory “intrusive thoughts”. At the time, I did not know that over half of new child-bearing parents studied report having intrusive thoughts. I thought I was just a horrible person, and definitely a horrible mom.
There is a lot of silence about postpartum depression, and the major goal of Sleep Training is to use humor and honesty to make it easier for us to have conversations about a difficult experience which none of us should feel alone in.
